Lalitha Vasudevan (Co-Director)

Lalitha Vasudevan is Associate Professor of Technology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Communication, Media, and Learning Technologies Design Program. She engages participatory, ethnographic, and multimodal methodologies to study how youth craft stories, represent themselves, and enact ways of knowing through their engagement with literacies, technologies, arts, and media. Dr. Vasudevan is also co-editor of two volumes that explore the intersections of youth, media, and education: Media, Learning, and Sites of Possibility and Arts, Media, and Justice: Multimodal Explorations with Youth (both with Peter Lang).

Lesley Bartlett (Co-Director) on leave from TC, 2014-2015

A faculty member in the Department of International and Transcultural Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University since 2002. Dr. Bartlett is affiliated with the Programs in Comparative and International Education and International Educational Development, as well as the Program in Anthropology and Education. Her research examines a number of key issues in the fields of anthropology, comparative and international education, and literacy studies. These include ethnographic studies of communication, multilingual literacies, popular education, race and class inequality, and schooling across the Americas.
